Making Lemonade...

This week it has all been about making lemonade
A whole frickin tree of lemons has been coming our way
but I am pollyanna-ing their butts like crazy
 so lemonade it is

I could be stressing that Phants is patient zero for the current head-cold-ageddon
and is making all in her path generate unholy amounts of snot as she happily infects us?
. but I am choosing to see her as our own personal flu shot
and is helping us get the flu/ head cold out of the way early in the season
okay so maybe this one is pushing it as she really does appear to be patient zero despite her swearing it is Sinus and referring to him as Typhoid Mary under her breath

My poor Dad also had to have back surgery
which happily went well so don't stress
plus he told my Mum and sister he was buying us all new Mercedes while drugged up to the eyeballs... he also wanted to know why they were wearing clothes
which is something I don't want to go anywhere near
but a new car brightens the week considerably
and the only downside is the sister didn't get it on camera
he is sooo going to try to weedle his way out of that one

Barry the cat managed to jump/sit or otherwise bury his foot in mud
which then dried to the consistency of concrete
which has led to him walking around demanding we somehow remove it with what we assume are our magical powers as we aren't allowed to touch it
it is dislodging bit by bit and the upside is that he constantly walks around shaking his foot
step step shake... step step shake... step step stop and lick it a bit... then shake
I shouldn't laugh and our cat whisperer is coming in to help us sort it out
but in the meantime... hilarious

I still haven't found the missing left shoe I have been hunting for
but have decided it is a sign that I should buy new shoes
total lemonade there people

I dropped everything that I put in my hands
but that meant the floors are gleaming and have been washed more in the last week
than they were in the last month
I am thinking of serving dinner on them they are so shiny

We bought a gold painted garden gnome to put in the lounge room
no downside there...pure unadulterated genius from the top of his gnomey hat to his adorable golden feet

Mug photo from birthday girl and one of my Delicious Painters... Lynn Pauly
The Index-Card-a-Day challenge started
so I got to get stuck into a couple of cuppa paintings

plus I am working on an illustration job
that has involved me doing  some exploratory lemon paintings
which I kind of love despite the fact that they aren't usable for the actual job
and I have to get my head down and butt up and get moving on them as the deadline looms
but it has served as a good make lemonade reminder!!!

Happy painting all...xx

Well I always have loved both lemons and lemonade, although I don't know how long it has been since I had any (lemonade that is, I just had lemon in my tea so there's that). The only time I hate lemon is in a chicken, DON'T tell me you're stuffing the chicken with lemons, I hate that. I got nuthin' about why, lemon and chicken just don't go for me. On the other hand, lemon on everything else is a YAY kind of thing. Bring it on you lemons. :o)
Good luck with the cat and the new illustration, I know you can handle both.

I don't know where to start with this one - love the lemons - I wish I had a lemon tree as I drink one squeezed into hot water every morning (it's supposed to be good for you but all it does it make me grimace with every sip!) Hope Phants feels better soon - I also have a lurgy of sorts which S brought back from a recent trip to Glasgow - he's all heart. A lovely tickly cough that keeps me awake all night! Poor Barry that sounds hilarious though - where is the YouTube video of the step shake action - that needs to go viral! Plus - a golden garden gnome - photos please!

Both your lemon paintings are delightful. As usual, I was entertained reading about your life's antics, especially the ones about the cat and the quest for your missing shoe. Happy PPF, my friend!

I love all your colors today. We're very grey and damp and those colors are helping to wake me up. Happy weekend to you. Erika

There's nothing like being a glass half full kind of a gal... especially when it's half full of lemonade (or beer)! Yep, there are different ways of looking at things and the 'lemonade way' is always going to win in my book! That said, I haver never actually made lemonade before... Oh, maybe once, but it was so acidic it made my eyes water! Haven't tried since! Loving your lemony paintings and your mug shots! It's adding a but of summer to an otherwise grey british day! xxx

First, let me get lawyerly. You don't need a video if several people heard Dad say he was buying you all Mercedes, however, if he was swimming in morphine that may be a catch. LOVE LOVE LOVE the lemons! Lemon was my favorite color as a kid and it still makes me incredibly happy and you may have made a prompt for me today. I don't know what this index card-a day thing is -- Do I want to add to my list of things to do for this one? Book to finish, and a gig of six paintings.... Is this necessary? I always do what you tell me to (but know I am on a painkiller for my back as I am saying this...) XO

Brilliant lemon and mug illustrations!! I would love to have a lemon tree. Love reading about your take on life, and poor Barry but it must look hilarious-and yes, you should film it:)

I made a delicious lemonade pie this week, from a recipe I found on line. Your painting made my mouth water for just one more piece. Happy PPF

Love your lemons and the colors are terrific. Hope you are doing good. We have...let's see...(counting on my fingers) about 5 lemon trees out back, different types but the lemonade is always good from them. Lemons are good for you as is vinegar-2 tsps. in glass of water clears impurities from the body. I do this daily. I grimace but hey, I always grimace, tee hee. Have a great day.

I love all your posts Tracey....they start my day off with a smile. I don't always comment (time restraints), but I'm usually there. Good luck with the flu.

Love the lemons!!!! Sending you all healing thought to pass the snot out of your systems :0)
I bet the cat is so funny but it could also start to get on everyone's nerves if he doesn't get it resolved.
Have a great week!!!

Your lemons look so inviting. I just made some lemonade about an hour ago. I feel for your dad, I have been there, that loopy stage is no fun. Happy PPF

Maybe your dad has the right idea..if I lived in a country as hot as Australia I wouldn't want to wear clothes....maybe a strategically placed thong...but those are flipflops in Oz so not much use on the nipple front. Do show us your golden gnome sometime...jealous!
Happy PPF

Glad things worked out for your dad, although he may regret his Mercedes idea when he comes down from the high. hehehehee. Hilarious. I hope Phants feels better soon. :) Thanks for my weekly smile. xx

I would love to have a lemon tree in our yard. Maybe one of these days. I used to live in a home several years ago that had several fruit trees (apple, pear and peach) along with strawberries and raspberries growing along the back of the house. Needless to say, we had plenty of fruit to go around! :)

LOVE your lemons and tea cups. Hope you're having a lovely week.
