Busier Than ...

This week I have been busier than a blue arsed fly
in fact I had grand plans of painted a fly with a blue butt
to highlight just how mad the week has been
but it turns out I have been too busy to draw just how busy I have been

plus I found out from Mr Google that the saying is running around like a blue arsed fly
and while I have been doing a lot of running around
I am gutted that I have been using the wrong saying...and for years too
mind you the busier than sayings are all oddly horrid and mildly inappropriate
so I am thinking I may just stick with my blue arsed fly
busy week means I have an unfinished painting to share of some amazing tea tins
plus a little sneaky look at the amazing project that has taken up so much of my time
not to mention I have spent quite a bit of time trying to decide whether this bunny bowl
is crazy creepy... or totally genius

I am tending towards genius
because throw some mini chocolate eggs in there and it is going to be perfectly Easter
but come Halloween I can use it again
and serve spaghetti in it to recreate glorious bunny guts
which will be creepy, but also totally seasonal
double duty bunny bowls has to fall into the genius side of the ledger right...
happy painting all...xx

Eww, well that's done it, now everytime I think of a fluffy little bunny I'm going to see spaghetti guts everywhere. Even the chocolate could be a problem as he looks like he's trying to shoot poo pellets out from that angle and the chocs could be mistaken for poo! Given the choice I think I'd choose the blue arsed fly myself (he he). What a tease you are for only showing a little bit of your special painting. My mind is thinking up all sorts of things, how will I survive until I see what it is?? Love you pics as always, get some rest!!
Luv Von xx

I was totally NOT with you until you mentioned the chocolate eggs. But then you know me, they could have filled the bunny butt and I would have been happy too. Chocolate from end is good with me. ;o)
Am I supposed to be chagrinned or happy for your total busyness?? I'm confuuusseeedd. Happy first day of spring BTW. Anyway, I'm going with congratulations on your total busyness because it means more painting and therefore more tea and chocolate. What could be wrong with that? Try to avoid total exhaustion, huh? Hugs from slightly warming up Canada. (at least the cherry blossoms are out on this coast though, YAY!)

You could just be busy as a bee (just sayin'!) I think it's great that you have so many projects on the go and I love the tea tin you painted. Totally not sure about the bunny bowl - do like the Easter link with the mini eggs and do like how twisted your mind is to think of the spaghetti bunny guts for Halloween.xx

I know about busy, and can relate to your comment. The fly would have been an interesting piece. As would the bunny bowl filled with chocolates, but as ever love your pieces. Happy weekend.

Love your idea with spaghetti in that wonderful bunny bowl :D Hope it will be really "bloody" with lots of tomatoe sauce ;)
And I like your tea tin, I like the way you draw at all :))
And I love your header, I'm blue inside out :))
But I really would like to receive an answer to my email I've sent to you ;)
Have a beautiful day

Never heard the fly saying. It's busy bee over here. You have been very, very busy if you have not even had time for art. I hope things slow down a bit for you. Have a great weekend. :)

of course you are uber busy with your fabulous illustrations! Love the new tin-and that bunny-genius I say-although I did gasp a bit at the Halloween idea.

As always, I throughly enjoy your wicked sense of humor - bunny guts, LOL! Anyway, I hope next week is not as busy for you. Blessings!

Bunny guts!!??? Honestly, Trace, you'll have 6 vikings begging me to come your way to get some ASAP! But they'll want to know whether the bunny eggs come from the same place... and demand you instantly make the bunny produce... Good luck to you. Launcing their longship as I speak;-) You might want to call in Karyn for help! :-)

Bunny guts is cool! ...and blue-arsed fly?...I've yet to see one, tho' we have green head ones that bite like buggery. Sounds like you've been busier than a one-armed paper-hanger.

Yes, totally genius. I think the bunny guts is much more fun than the chocs, but then I like spaghetti and don't like chocolate! lol.

Totally genius - love the chocolate - and the spaghetti guts, my kids would especially think the guts are cool! I have never heard that comment about the fly? Are flies busy doing anything productive? We say, "busy as a bee" - as they are actually accomplishing a great deal with their flying hither and yon. Love the sliver of the masterpiece, and half a painting is better than none! Hope this week settles down a bit :)

You are really clever and enthusiastic! Today I had a break from painting, I paint a little nearly each day.

I'm still trying to picture the blue butted fly :0) and forgetting the bunny all together...but I think it's multiple use theme is a great idea:)

I've never heard of a blue-arsed fly until now but it is a phrase that will now figure prominently with daily usage!
Even royalty uses the phrase -

Looks like there is a public appeal out for the history of the term blue-arsed fly (http://public.oed.com/appeals/blue-arsed-fly/) at this point the jury is out. But you have accomplished quite a bit with the drawing and determining present and future uses for your bunny bow. I'd say you are doing well.

Hehe! I once sketched a chicken with no head and posted it on my own blog, because I had been 'running around like a headless chicken' at the time. The blue arsed fly saying is a popular one here too. It's great to be busy for all the right reasons! Can't wait to see what's next on your ever growing list!! :0)
