Turquoise and Citron ....

Summer of Colour is finally upon us
and it is a much needed shot of colour and brightness
as we descend into what has to be the greyest wettest winter on record
so instead of my winter days being full of the normal Turquoise and Citron Green
there are no beautiful clear skies and the garden still lush from the summer rains
instead I am stuck in grey mists rubbish
and the garden has become a slightly scary overgrown thing

Now I am going to come clean and say I had already half painted this bag up
I only finished it yesterday, but it was partially done last week
and I did try to add some citron green with some paint
but it would appear the grey days have seeped into my very soul
and the colours turned out muddy and it just looked bloody awful
so I used Picmonkey and added the touches of citron
which totally saved my sanity, not to mention I didn't have to start again
which would have resulted in me needing to eat about three blocks of chocolate
which my ass does not need
so yay Picmonkey and your ass saving paint splatters

As a form of redemption I will show a  couple of pieces that are the suitable colours
from the last few weeks sketching and drawing
I have to admit this is a colour combination that I love
and I am so excited to see what everyone has been up to
not to mention finding new blogs, and visiting old favourites
Happy Week 1 all ...xx

My last two posts links are here for you ...

I love your comment about the splatters saving your ass. I had to laugh. Your work is amazing. It amazes me to see people who can paint so realistically. That is not my strong point. Your cups are just lovely too.

Now that is a bright, snazzy bag! I love all the pics with those colors. Our spring has been dark, chilly, and rainy way too much, so I understand. Color warms the heart right up. ;)

Love those splatters! And I can completely understand about the garden - one minute ours was brown, the next the grass was a foot high. Scary.

I agree, I love the splatters and that bag! I SO would buy that, brilliant work as always, monkey or no monkey! xoxo

Great job as always. So glad Picmonkey saved your ass. It's a really handy monkey to have around. The weather is wet and grey here too...crapola spring and doesn't look like the summer is going to be any better... :(

Love your purse painting, the splatters are great! Never heard of picmonkey... seems like a fun tool. :) The other turquoise paintings are wonderful, too, especially I like the avocados! <3

Ooh, I too LOVE this colour combo! So uplifting and cheery! What a fab painting! I'm sorry you are having a rubbish winter. We are also having an unpredictable summer. We had a few lovely hot days, but the last week has been nothing but wind and rain - and we live on in the South East which is the best weather in England! Humph!

Oh I love this colour combo and such great drawing as always ;) Dxx

I was totally shocked that you weren't showing a tea-cup, but then I saw there is one on the post....relief! I won a stencil from a shop here - tea-cups; I will make them into coffee cups! Valerie

YAAAYYYYY for life-and-ass-saving colors! The painting brings me in a good mood even - although we too have a grey day in Holland. A real bummer after just a few sunny days.. but ah well, I know the medicine now: blues and citron! Off to the studio then! Hug from Holland

A gorgeous bag .... I want it, I WANT it.
Lovely splotches from Picmonkey. I've tried to trace that, but haven't been able to find it, so I'l try again, simply because I also want lovely messy splodges like that. They do make the painting zing.

And as for that bag.... ME WANT!!!

HAHAHAHA. Thank goodness for photo editing. :) Love the bag. Winter has settled in around here today and is very gray and cold.

Um, why is eating 3 blocks of chocolate a bad thing? Well, except for the weight-gain thing, but I mean, really, it's chocolate!!

Anyway .. I love your citron and turquoise pieces. (And what a great idea to use Picmonkey! I'll have to remember that!)

I started doing this challenge, too, after reading about it on your blog. Haven't got around to posting yet. Perhaps I need some chocolate to encourage me?!
