This week has been odd, even for me
and I blame my clothes washer
which has started exhibiting some odd behaviour
like making some weird noise in the middle of the cycle
doesn't do anything else... just this buzz type noise for 5 seconds
but more puzzling is that it turns Sinus Man's trousers inside out during a load
nothing else gets turned inside out, or right side in for that matter
just his new trousers
which is weird right
I actually thought that maybe some smart ass in the family
may, in fact, be stopping the load and doing it to mess with me
because lets face it that is exactly the sort of sick minds they have
but having sat and watched a load like a hawk, seriously, I sat and watched the laundry
it would appear the washer just has some bizarre thing for Sinus's trousers
which drives me nuts, not just because it makes no sense
but because it means I have turn them back the right way to hang them
and he has really long legs and I have really short arms
which leads to laundry contortions and cursing
plus the microfibrey type material is kind of weird when it is wet
anyway the long and short of it is that it has messed with me all week
Because my head is all inside out due to the laundry conundrum
I am suffering form a bit of I-have-no-clue-what-I-am-doing-itis
I haven't decided if I am going to do the Index Card a Day Challenge
which always looks like it spurs everyone onto mountainous creative heights
I had a play on some cards to see what I thought
but it is quite the commitment and I seem to be piling my plate a but high at the moment
I am doing the Summer of Colour as it was great fun last year
plus I won an Ice cream spoon... need I say more!!!!
I am in the middle of writing more lessons for what will hopefully be an online course one day
I pulled out all my old teaching notes, which is quite the pile it turns out
so I have now overloaded my brain with information
and the lessons are taking on epic proportions...
Add to that I am nearing the magic 400 mark in followers
which was the goal I set myself to open an online store
mind you I set that goal whenI Ithought I would never make it to such a lofty number
so now am freaking out that I have to take the plunge
I started a painting based on a post card I was sent and I really want to finish it off
because I love where it is going
it has looked like this on my desk for the last two days
but the epic lesson pile is taking up all the room so I'm not getting to it
which is driving me a bit mad
plus Phantom Steve turns 17 on Sunday
and I feel obliged to make a fuss and give her presents and things
despite her eye rolling becoming so prevalent her eyes are starting to look like poker/ slot machines...
and I still suspect she may have a hand in the trouser turning out somehow
not sure how she is doing it but she has serious ninja type tendencies...
Happy Paint Party Friday everyone ...xx
My last post was last Sunday but here is the link if you are interested ...

Omgoodness Tracey...you need a day with several more hours in it.....looking forward to your online class... :D
Happy Creating!
blessings,
Cynthia♥
Wow! That is strange about the laundry. And how strange that it could be a family prank. I love how this postcard is turning out. Don't get too caught up in all the epic lists & tasks. The most important thing to do is breath!
Hahahaha, reading your posts are always such good therapy for me:-) Not only are you and excellent writer and painter, the happenings in your world makes the chaos in mine seem a little less insane...just a little...:-) I bet online classes by yours truly will be fantastic, No pressure of course...just saying.
Ooh, OOOh, sign me up Batman!! Can I be the first on your list for your new classes... and do I get a prize for being first?? ;o)
My favorite busy bee, painting up a storm. Hugs to P Steve and hoping the pant fairies start doing their housework jobs, those damn lazy varies! hehehe.
hugs,
Jenn
Didn't you know that washing machines are portals to other dimensions, it's usually socks that go through the portal. Maybe the trousers are grabbing onto the the middle thingy on the machine and the hard pull of the other dimension is turning them inside out. They hang on until the end of the load when the portal closes. Oh dear, I've been watching too much Doctor Who again!! Seriously, I would leave the lid up. A very happy birthday to Phantom Steve, can't believe she is that old already. I will be pushing Jenn out of the queue to be first inline for the classes (sorry Jenn but all's fair in love and art classes).

Stand aside ladies...cos I'm going to be first no matter what! Did I tell you I used to play rugby, so I'm really good at body swurving tackles! ;D
Hmm...the mystery of the reversable troos. Sounds like a novel to me. I have an agreement in our house after years of turning bits and pieces inside and right side out that I don't do that anymore. If they go into the machine then they are handed back the same way!
I have visions now of Sinus Man setting a new trend! I could be a whole new fashion statement..wearing your gear inside out!!! Hehe
Great drawing as usual Trace, but I can't help but think what a lot of controls to choose from. I'd be there hours working which to press!
Happy Birthday to Phantom...I'm sure she'll have a fantastic day. Oh to be 17 again! :D
Carry on the busy work...but don't forget to enjoy the weekend too!
xoxo
Ha!! You always crack me up! I love how you make the mudane so much fun - I bet you're the best Mum (that was for you ;) ever - even if you're getting eye rolling these days.
Happy Birthday, Happy almost 400 followers! Happy new store-to-be!!!!
AND thank you for helping to spread the word about The Summer of Color - can't wait to play again this year, xo!
mundane. (sigh.)
Tracey, I always enjoy your paintings and today's are wonderful. I especially like the cup and saucer and teapot in blue. Sometimes I find pants turned inside out in the dryer. I don't know if they are that way in the washer or not. Happy Birthday to dear Phantom!
Must be that something is happening during those 5 minutes buzz noise .... ;-) Love your illustrations, and looking forward to your online store!
Tell your washing machine to calm down! Hahaha thanks for making me smile, again and as always!! A class sounds wonderful :)
Is it good for me to laugh so much before I go to bed?????
Love your art and your mind!
My washing machine occasionally makes a very loud squeak - seriously loud - which makes me jump out of my skin. I forgive it though, it's a good old thing - very reliable as long as I keep feeding it socks ;)
Darn those goals. Whatever shall we do with them? I can't wait to see your online store!
Laundry is the base of all evil.
Happy Birthday to your slot-machine type child..do they ever out grow eye rolling? Probably not if the get it from their mother.
xo

My washing machine is down in the cellar, so I don't hear it! Nice paintings! Valerie
Oooooo that index card sounds so tempting right? I will be doing the June Guys challenge, but since is not a daily thing..... may as well jump into the other one as well! :oD
Congrats on all your projects! They will be awesome!
Love the tea set and flowers painting. Gosh what a busy lady you are Tracey. How do you have time to do anything else? Enjoy!!!
I hate washing machines, I hate those little instructions tags on clothes- in another life I would live on a desert island with a fig leaf for cover!! haha, so no washing needed, Happy PPF.
And please include me in your online classes.
I love his work, tea scene is my favorite flowers, and I laughed with the washer really is complicated and many programs many buttons. Saludos
Well you always manage to make us smile & give us some eye candy art to leer over in-spite of the X-File type goings on with laundry and unfinished paintings and birthday's and goals that are on shrinking elastic and class plans to write.... oh my...I'm surprised you're not in ga-ga land.
Oh. You are? Well why didn't you say?! That explains an awful lot. You are, in fact, turning those troos insides out yourself m'dear! There you go. Mystery sorted. Have a fundabulous weekend with all kinds of slotmachine stylee teens :0) Mo xx
ps - I've got some index cards coming. What was I thinking!? Do I need more challenges?
As you know, I am challenged enough already!
Household issues can sure play mind games with you, but maybe your washer is trying to help. Turning pants inside out is supposed help with color retention. LOL! Anyway, thanks for the lead on the index card challenge. I have a hard time painting large items during the school year, so this may be a good venue for me to try. I also want to thank you for the kind words you left at my blog. Blessings!
For the first time ever your week was not as bad as mine.......lol Great story and illustrations, but then you know I love them. Hope to see you again in Summer of Colour. Happy PPF, Annette x

Lovely work this week, and a Happy Birthday to Phantom!
Always a chuckle here....phantom washers inhabited by pants ghosts.....ICAD does take a commitment but you look like you could be off to a good start. I will have to check out summer of color....everyone is talking about it. Happy PPF xox
Thanks for the chuckle, have a great weekend!
Laundry gnomes - they also steal socks.
I know you will have great success with an online store. I can't wait to see it stocked with all that TFK goodness :)
I'm doing SOC too - such great inspiration there.
It was great to start the day with a smile. Can't wait to hear more about your online class. It can't help but be great if you are teaching.
I love your painting. Definitely something that should be in a store. Maybe, you know of one that is going to open soon. Lots of luck to you on all of your upcoming plans.
i'm thinking poltergeist. yeah, sounds like something they would do to trousers. right?
see you at summer of color. this will be my first time...i'm looking forward to it!
Well I feel a lot better now after having tee hee'd through your post. Love your illustrations. Thanks for making me laugh as usual. Always awesome posts and art. Take care.
you never cease to give me a giggle with your stories and of course I love your illustrations. The index cards are FAB with their colorful backgrounds!! I'm thinking of joining the Summer challenge for the first time; we'll see :) Happy PPF!
oh my dear...at least the washer is still working! and perhaps it is the same 'pixie' who steals one sock that is turning the trousers?! The online course sounds interesting so will be waiting to hear more. Index card a day is a challenge I've done the last 2 years, and well---I don't always succeed at one per day but it's for fun so just play 'catch-up' when necessary or if I feel like it. hope you join in!
I'm smiling! :D :D
xx
Fantastic drawings as always and brilliant and extremely cheerful post. thank you for sharing
I have pants and t-shirts that turn inside out in the washer, but it is usually when I have less clothes in the load--apparently giving clothes more room to dance and party in the washer.
Happy, happy birthday to Phantom!!! :):):)
I can't imagine you wouldn't have great success with online classes and your own online shop!! Best of luck, dear lady!! :)
Trace love, STEP AWAY, from the washing machine. Breath, in out, in out, in out.....relax all your muscles, starting from the top of your head right down to your toes....all better now:)
Everyone knows that there are monsters in the washing machine that usually only pinch one sock. Looks like yours likes putting on Sinus's trousers then whipping them off, so they are inside out...naughty monster.... grrrr xxx
Those laundry gnomes are at it again, there is no telling what they will do next to screw your mind more so when you are very busy as you are. Love the sound of your on line courses and that postcard is wonderful. Enjoy Phantom's birthday she will be flying out from the nest before you know it, so treasure her.
Tracey you can see me rofl here about your funny post....I looove your stories full out of the real life...I have something weird going on with my machine....I am sure she eats one sock a month..right away...its gone in her big mouth...she loves the black ones the most ;) is it true? Sumer of color starts soon? I am in I think :) ♥ Conny

You NEVER fail to entertain me my dear!! NEVER!! That's it, I figured out, why you are so quirky....you have FAIRIES living at your house playing fairy games!!! Toying with your laundry and other things....after all it would take more than one to turn those big pants inside out!! I wonder if they have a fairy blog to tell tales of living with you?
Great work as always!Always look forward to your posts!
A BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Phantom...no wonder you remembered mine...we are days apart...Hope she has fun!!
Hugs Giggles
Love your posts and your wonderful art! Always a joy!
The case of the mysterious pants ... I see a book in the making here! Does your washer really have that many buttons! Obviously one is the turn inside out button!
I once accidentally pushed the print on both sides button on my printer...and now my printer turns every piece of paper over before spitting it out. I have no idea how to make it stop doing that. I'm deathly afraid it will start turning my pants inside out if I try messing with it.
Hey, btw good art here too, per usual!! HPPF!
The laundry gremlin always steals a sock or two from my wash, but never turns pants inside out! Love you paintings - i would love to see you open an online store (very scary I know) but I think you'd do really well x

You look like you know what you're doing, even if you are not feeling it. Congrats on your awesomeness! The up coming blog follower mile stone, the online shop, art course plans, the challenge participations are all terrific. You are so prolific, extremely talented and never cease to make me laugh and smile. Great blog post as always. I love the tea cup (post card inspired) painting it is beautiful. Happy Birthday to P.
Ha, ha, ha...laundry tale is so funny...oh my...laundry has a mind of its own and knows exactly when to mess with ours! Its wonderful to read about your classes...and I know it will be fun! Here is my best, best wishes for the shop, classes and a well behaved washing machine!;-)
That is a mystery about those trousers -- I see a book in the making... Congratulations on the 400 mark! Can't wait to see what you do with your online shop! As always, I love the humor with which you capture every day moments in your words and in your art.
Loved your story and your art!
Thanks so much for stopping by - love reading your comments!
You sound too busy! I just got done with a week that included Katie graduating as valedictorian, Katie having a root canal, and Katie leaving on a trip to Vancouver! But not very much art, sadly...
Hope you figure out the great trouser mystery...
Tracey, oh to live in your house for an hour...you are absolutely hilarious...from the laundry, to the -itis - to the birthday...you make me smile, you make me laugh and then be in total awe of your art skills. I love the flowers at the top and the pens. Now, about that washing machine. Any washing machine with that many buttons, I think has the capacity to wash your floors too! lol Lovies, Samara
Great post Tracey, I love to read about the "goings ons" in your family, you could write a book! I am sure it would be a best seller:)
Love your painting, the daffodils are beautiful. I will look forward to your online shop:)
Tracey, Did you check the detergent? Is it new? Maybe it has a role in all this mystery:) Enjoyed reading this post. WOW! would love to hear more about your online class, waiting for the details.
Susan
Your post acts as a mood freshener always...so finally did you unleash the mystery behind the trousers ? your art is awesome as usual !
Hahaha, what a wonderful monday-morning read!
Yes, I'm late on it, but I really enjoy the visits. I bought two packages of index-cards the other day, because they looked like neat little cards to work some art and now you present me with a BIG challenge! But I'm not doing it!!! ;-)
Love your postcard-image with tea-cup and flowers!
Have a straight trouser-week!
Ilona xxx
lovely art you always make tracey. such vividness and details.
You have one smart washer. :)) Never a dull moment in your house.
Well, first of all, congratulations on that EPIC number of followers! And yes you MUST start an online store! I'm sure you would do SO well! The story of the trousers is a real head scratcher isn't it? But at the very least it's inspired another highly amusing post, lol! :0)
Too funny, remember when everyone wore socks? Dryers use to eat them. . .I don't know what they are eating now. . . I haven't missed anything since we quit wearing socks. Happened when I checked bags at airport too.. .. what's with that?? Now I always carry on. Love the post. Your art work is fantastic, love the Store idea, yep, it's time. Blessings, Janet PPF
