Snot Face Sketches ...

Just call me Snot face... I deserve it and it is totally fitting at this time
even though it has sort of slowed for me it has now spread to other members of the house
so it has become a snot festival of epic proportions around here
which is leading to a severe lack of studio time
but I have done a few little sketches in one of my sketchbooks
both of which were great fun to do
even if I completed them with tissues stuffed into my nose
which looked decidedly unglamorous but did the trick so well
that I considered repeating it while I went to pick up Phantom form school
lucky for her Sinus Man picked her up on Friday afternoon
but sort of disappointing for me as embarrassing her always lifts my spirits

The first sketch is this Swedish Easter drink that I got from IKEA the other week
Cute package and suitably and gloriously odd taste
to go with the odd rabbits on the package perhaps
but having it on the table added to the fun of Easter enormously
I can't quite describe what it tastes like
but sort of like root beer or sarsaparilla with a shot of bitters
not unpleasant at all, but different
mind you not pleasant if you taste it just after washing your teeth
and I know nothing tastes good with that shot of minty freshness
but this stuff became decidedly wrong with a toothpastey mouth....

The other sketch of the last few days
is of a lovely surprise gift from a wonderful friend
Vonny K sent me this lovely dangle for my bag
and it has charms of all my favourite things
except for George Clooney, but I'm not so sure such a wonder exists
but all my other favourite things are represented
like painting, tea, books and cake
it is awesome isn't it and hangs in my studio
reminding me just how wonderful friends are ...

So armed with a box of tissues and a pot of tea
I am heading back into the studio to get painting on Manon's tea tin
which has not progressed one little bit in days and is totally driving me nuts
so my snot and I are going to get busy on it now
Happy Sunday Sketches all ... xx

P.S  I just found out that Manon's Paper Saturday is any work on paper
so am linking up with this new event as well...... xx

I love your sketches. And as being Swedish I am very familiar with that drink. We have it at Christmas - then it's called Julmust and at Easter - Påskmust. I only drink it around Xmas, and preferably along with a piece of bread with newly made ham on it and some mustard on top...then I'm in heaven :)
Hope you and your family will feel better soon.

Hi Snot Face,
Love the dangles. What a lovely gift to receive. Beautiful artwork as always. I spent the whole afternoon in Ikea on Thursday... I didn't see the Bunny drinks. Will have to look out for them the next time I go...:)

Sorry to hear it's still a snot fest over there!! I love the bottle you painted and the contents sound interesting - I'm currently going through a fad of Crabbie's Alcoholic Ginger Beer - it's lush!!
That charm is so cute - a friend got me one with all little doggy dangly things including a westie, bone, dog bowl etc but this one is perfect for you!

Love the charm bracelet! and the colors in that Ikea bottle. I'll have to keep an eye out for that and check it out. Anything that is described as having a " gloriously odd taste" is something I must try! LOL

Love the dangly doo-daw! Perfect for you. :) The bunny drink sounds a bit iffy, though.

Only a true artist would still be diligently sketching with tissue stuck up their nose. You're amazing! :)

Påskmust is very tasty. At christmas it tast the same, but is called Julmust instead (Jul=christmas). No christmas or easter without it! :) Laughing when I saw it!

By the way; George Clooney would be a treat!!!!!!

I LOVE your sketches. My fave is the charm bracelet as well. SERIOUSLY cool! :)

P.S. STILL have your flower painting of my photo on my inspiration board. :)

Such lovely charms! I'm not sure what to think about that drink!! Glad you're starting to feel better, slowly but surely. Sounds like one nasty cold!! xx

Poor you! Sounds all manner of yuk! But your sketches haven't suffered - I especially love the charms. Hope you are feeling back to normal soon :0)

I used to try to describe must as a Swedish cola, but was voted down by the rest of the family. It does have a strange taste. I still have a bottle of julmust (Christmas must) hidden at the back of the cupboard because non of my lot liked it and I can't drink it. Feel better soon.

Fabulous illustrations! I would wear that charm bracelet. :)

so the snot continues... I hope you're feeling better soon! Lovely charm dangle. That's so cool. A George Clooney charm would be so awesome!!

Oh, you poor thing, nothing worse than a snotty nose. At least you were kind enough to share it around. Hope it goes soon, had little miss sick for nearly three weeks. So glad you like the dangle and it looks beautiful in your drawing. I'll try to get George Clooney to add to the dangle, might be hard to attach him though. Hope to be back blogging again soon, if this stinking computer will work properly.
Von.

So glad you drew the beverage bottles and the bracelet instead of the snot. The title had me a bit worried ;-) Hope things are clearing up around there! Inspiring and beautiful as always, Tracey.

I don't want to burst your bubble Trace, but I've got one of those special dingle dangles too...but I never thought to draw mine ~ which is just as well because I could never do justice to it like you have.
That's a brilliant drawing ;D
I felt so special to receive it and now I know we both share the same friend, it's even more special. By the way George wasn't on mine either but I still love it and it makes me smile every time I look at it. :D

What a wonderful present! I always love going to IKEA, and no visit would be complete without a meatball lunch/dinner at the restaurant and a stop at the food section (and repeated "just follow the bl***y arrows!!" to my mum, who always has to come with me, because I don't drive anymore). They seemed to have changed their range, though, and all my favourite food things have disappeared. Hope you're feeling better again by now. I've had the same for the past week. I don't think there's much brain left in my head by now...
