A Warning Would Have Been Nice ...

Hey you
yes you on the other side of the screen
why didn't you warn me that changing to a new computer would do my head in so much
 I thought we were friends
but friends would have warned me that a computer change for a tech hopeless like me
is not something to be attempted in a day or so
that moving files and setting up everything
on the new instrument of torture machine would be crazy hard
but I am not giving up
I will be sitting here surrounded by dirty tea cups and chocolate wrappers
occasionally banging my head on the table and cussing like a sailor
until it all bloody works
see you soon my so called friends...xx

linking up with Sunday Sketches...
and here are my last two post links
just in case I never get another one up and running again...

OH DEAR!!!

With friends like us, you don't need any enemies....:0(

Hope you can overcome your challenge....lol....the endless cups of tea and mountains of chocolate should help....not too sure about the "head-banging" (the 80's era is over I think...lol)

blessings,
Cynthia♥

OH no! I had no idea you were getting a new computer! Pft, besties should know these things!

What kind did you get??

I am really enjoying the pointing finger. It works well in this post! Made me laugh.

When I got my macbook, it took like, a day and a half for all the files to transfer, it was freaking torture! I just wanted to use my new computer!

Be careful where you're pointing that thing! It might be loaded!

Good luck with the new machine :)

LOVE the sketch! It makes me think of those 'Uncle Sam wants You' posters when they were encouraging men to sign up for the US army.

I don't envy you setting up a new computer. It can be VERY time-consuming. Thank God for external hard-drives...they make a huge difference 'cos you can work directly from them for files etc.

Enjoy your week ~ xx

Why do you think I'm still using a ten year old dinosaur computer? I always knew you were crazy but changing computers, now that's insane!! I'll send more chocolate.

Lovin that hand.

You NEVER listen to me!! Why do you suppose I'm still using my ancient 3 1/2 year old laptop? (funny how anything over 3 years old is ancient with computers) - keep slugging at it - we'll wait until you figure it out!

Good luck with it!!I still spend hours looking for things I thought I had!

Oh dear... I have the same problems when switching computers! Our PC at home is on it's last legs - so I just use the one at work to avoid the problem!
So sorry I didn't warn you, lol! Hmm... Did you ask? Is it one of those MAC thingy's? I'm thinking of getting one of those sometime but am reluctant to switch from Windows in case it's completely baffling!
By the way - The hand is great! Really great! Intimidating even!! :0)

The mac thingy is marvellous, either the macbook or the ipad, and if you make sure to buy it from an Apple store they always help with problems - if there is one near you. (And mac invented windows). This os not Mrs Jobs speaking).
Sorry Tracey for the commercial on your memory space.

That threatening finger should be pointing at the PC. Be firm with it. Show it who's boss. It'll come round in the end Good luck until then. Can't bear to think of blogland with a hiatus in your posts.

Ha! I feel your pain my friend. I got a new computer at work last week and I still have settings I need to figure out how to re-set. Who knew there were so many??? Who knew I was so darn picky about my computer (oh yeah, that really shouldn't have been a surprise)?? Good luck and enjoy the new toy...eventually xx

Good luck with this, seriously. Wait till you try to move your iTunes - consider yourself warned :)

great hand - makes me thing of 1984 for some reason - quite imposing and intimidating! Ah, installing new computers, linking up sky boxes and all sorts of games consoles to the TV so there is a snake pit of cables behind the TV unit - all these things are the domain of my husband. I don't bother my pretty little head with anything remotely techie like that because I don't have a clue!! I just about learnt how to hyper link on blogs!!

Thank you Mama! xoxo

Oh sorry about that my friend! ;)

LOL! this cracked me up.
Good luck with setting yourself up on the new "machine". Hopefully, you'll be back to blogging soon without too much of a headache. (or as my dad would say, "blobbing"...) hehehhee. He has no fucking idea... hehehee. take care girl.. xox

I Could Never warn anyone against getting a New Computer! Never! Love my New Computers everytime I get a New Apple, iMac, ProMac. Delicious!

So, Happy for you!

Enjoy!

Oh dear!!! I understand you very well. It neeeds so much time to get a little bit familiar to such a "new machine" which keeps so much of your private and personal stuff. Good luck!!!!!! I have also to do this within the next weeks. My husband bought a new PC for himself and I am now the new owner of his "old" Mac.
I also love the pantry pineapple you painted last week. I enjoyed the summer colors of this tropical fruit and the summer feeling it spreads very much while we have still lots of snow here.

Hahahahahaha! So great to read about your frustration over the process of moving to a new machine! And I apologize for laughing at the same time, because who would not be frustrated and banging their head on a hard surface?
Hope everything will be OK very soon! And Lindt chocolate is the best, isn't it?

Happy PPF! And thank you for nice words on my blog!
