Today is the big day
the day that my dear husband, the famous Sinus Man has a birthday
and it is a box jumper just like I had last month
but I know he will cruise through it with his normal unflappable calm
and in honour of the big day I have painted an iron
it might not be your traditional subject for a birthday painting
but it is actually quite suitable in his case
and I wanted to paint him something as the early birthday dinner we had planned for last night
had to be moved... long boring story you don't need to hear
but, like always he just rolled along with it all
so to help make his day a bit more special it is time to celebrate all things Sinus....
Sinus is a great ironing type person
he may not be the quickest hand at it, but he is crazy thorough
and does a mean crease when it is called for
our deal is that he will iron providing he has control of the tv
and there in no whining about what he is watching allowed
so most Sunday afternoons he happily irons while switching through the sports channels
and we are not allowed to grumble or comment about anything
not about the channel flicking, the fact that he has to play it at 5 million decibels
or that he is hurling abuse at various referees, coaches and commentators
it is his time and I happily leave him to it
I am certainly not fool enough to mess with such a good thing
But there are lots of other things to celebrate about his as well
he doesn't remember punch lines to jokes but he tells them anyway
which is always funnier than the joke would have been in any case
he doesn't bat an eyelid at Phantom and I having very confusing discussions
covering 20 different topics in about 2 minutes flat
he still asks us to pull his finger and thinks it is hilarious
he always puts fuel in my car so I don't have to go to a garage
he loves a gossip and a good chick flick
and only subjects us to Rambo and the like occasionally
he is chief spider killer and a great mozzie squisher
not to mention he is great with the BBQ
and is turning into quite the handyman and gardener
the list just goes on and on
he is just one tall streak of talent that man
and that is why we love him
snore inducing sinuses and all
happy birthday Sinus Man ...xx

Happy birthday to your sweetie! Think he could teach my hubby to iron? Guess we'd need to buy an iron first...
Thank you as always for making us smile. i hope Matthew has a wonderful birthday....and replies to all our comments:) Julie
sending huge happy birthday wishes to the man who grows and takes care of pea babies. Ya gotta love a man who loves his peas in a pod. :o)
Much love to you all and hope your day is truly filled with joy, M.
Hugs,
Jenn
Happy Birtday to your guy!
He sounds like an awesome man, you lucky... :)
Happy birthday, Mr. Love the ironing story. We have room mates that iron everything and we iron nothing. Interesting combo. At least we don't have to negotiate over a shared iron. We just fascinate the heck out of each other.
Happy birthday Sinus :)
I hate ironing........
Happy birthday wishes to Sinus!
I also hate ironing. I love the iron art you did and the list of his traits is just so sweet!
Allow me to say happy birthday to your beloved Sinus man. He truly sounds like a keeper to me!!
Happy Birthday.. it's been a Birthday week hasn't it? A man who irons? That's a keeper!! I should know - I married one of them too :-)
Celebrate!!! A birthday and a good man. Great post and am always delighted by what you choose to sketch.
WOW... I'm flabbergasted at a man that irons. You lucky girl you! ;) Happy Birthday Sinus Man!!
Habbbiiie böörsdey tuuu yuuuuuu :) Nice scetch you have done...the plug is awesome ;)
Happy Birthday Sinus. I hope he has a wonderful birthday!
Happy Birthday to Sinus! Love your iron...wish I used mine more. :)
Tee-hee! I laughed so much when I read your post. He sounds a lot like my own hubby! He irons far better than I do too and will also do it for me occasionally as long as he is watching sport. Isn't it amazing how they suddenly become experts at it even though they have never played or refereed in their lives? It puzzles me, but like you I don't question it! Love the iron by the way! Just brilliant :0)
happy birthday to Sinus Man. (does he know you wrote about him?!?) ;-)
He sounds like my husband, minus the ironing. And the fuelling my car... and the killing bugs... ok, i guess he's not like my husband at all. Except for the weekend sports - only instead of ironing, mine is eating chips. thanks for the laughs, girl. xox
Wonderful your blog and your work, congratulations. Besos desde España.

Happy Birthday to your husband. Your iron speaks more than words and your story elevates the soul. Your artwork is always so beautiful and delicate. Wishing you well in all that you do x
Priceless qualities for sure! You're a lucky woman and you can tell him I said so! Happy B'day SinusMan.....
Happy Birthday to that ironing man of yours - I hate ironing and just don't do it unless I am forced (have to go to a wedding and my gown is all wrinkled - that is a laugh!) My husband used to iron all his own work clothes but took care of that task by retiring! Love your sketch - hate to iron!
Such love here...Mine does the laundry. Neither of us irons! I didn't think you used an iron unless you were doing patchwork anymore! ;)
Happy birthday to a wonderful fellow. Anyone who will do the ironing is fabulous in my book. Our countdown to Christmas starts next week with big miss' 21st birthday. Love your other posts, don't know how you are managing it. I'm away from the computer this week, too much to organise.
Enjoy the day Mr Sinus.
Von.
I love it when people come together and share views. Great blog, keep it up!

What a really sweet post, Tracey. I would let my husband blast the TV AND radio if he ironed! He sounds like a great guy. Happy Birthday to your ironing, finger pulling husband!
xx
A man who irons!!! That man is definitely a keeper - sinuses and all!!
You make me laugh. Enjoyed you post!
SINUS IS MY HERO! So tell me how can I get him to call here? He can have the remote ~ NO problem! ;D
'Happy Belated Birthday'
I'm so impressed with your entries to all these challenges Trace. I can't even get to check them all out never mind draw/paint anything myself! :D
I'm stunned because how can you make me appreciate a drawing of an iron? Now that's talent!!!
xoxo
Happy belated dear Sinus!! Hope you enjoyed your special dinner!! Any man who squishes spiders is tops in my book!!
Wonderful iron illustration!! Love a man who can iron too!!
Hugs Giggles
Happy Birthday to your guy. I'll bet he looks cute wielding an iron. The drawing is great.
Darla
Hi Tracey, I hope your hubby enjoyed all his celebrations and finally his special dinner. I think the iron is great. I recently read somewhere that if you really want to learn how to draw, you should draw things from every angle, so that you really get to know their shape and volume. I just realized today that , that is what you do every week!
I love your blog but would rather not have seen that image. It reminds me I should be ironing rather than being on here. You should see how big my shack is now. (smile)
Love it
Janice
Great iron drawings, hope Sinus had a great birthday. You can send him across the Tasman do my great pile! hehehe
Great drawing, did he enjoy it? What a wonderful agreement that you have made, my bh controls the remote, I suppose I have lucked out on making a deal with him......too late.
Great post and tribute to your man for his birthday. Wonderful sketch too! I do not like ironing at all so buy clothes that I can hang straight from washing machine to hanger and then, out to the clothesline...no ironing needed. :)
I don't know if I enJOYed my second read of this post or the comments MORE!! such a wonderful way you've honoured Sinus and how much both reads have let me look at what peculiarities those I dearly love have that make them such great treasures.
xoxo
