I tried really really hard to not join in Art Every Day Month
which is hosted by Leah over at Creative Every Day
even though last year it was a huge thing for me
it is where I found my blogging feet
it made me get the proverbial stick out of my butt and get painting
and to get over myself and just post the bloody thing
none of this refining and checking before I hit the publish button
I just had to jump in and be done with it
and it was AMAZING....
There was a down side though
my fingers became mere stumps on the end of my hands
from the frenzy of painting, writing and visiting blogs
I lived on buckets of tea, the house fell apart around me
meals became even more haphazard than usual
but the thing is I loved it... every single mad minute of it
I told myself that I couldn't make the time this year
that it would be too much on an already mad schedule
but then the first of November rolled around
and I found myself creeping over to see who had signed up
I told myself I still wouldn't be taking part even though it was full of people I love to visit
I told myself I didn't have time
but it made me a bit sad and induced a chocolate frenzy to console myself
and I visited again on day 2
then visited again earlier today
at which point I gave up pretending I wasn't going to do it
so bugger it all I am in again
a bit late and I know I will miss some days
because this is simply a ridiculous thing to do with what I have on my plate
but I just can't not be part of it again
so the family can do a big suck it up buttercup
So here are some sketches from the last two days
I drew what has to be the greatest wind chime of all time
it makes my tea loving heart sing I have to say
and hangs on the door to my studio
and it will be chiming like crazy as I whiz in and out of there like a mad thing
trying to get in all the AEDM fun I can get ...xx
my last two posts links are here ...

WooHoo!! We'll be crazy busy together!! Mom thinks me crazy to have added this on top of the three articles due this month, APR, all the cpap appointments and all the other life stuff that always needs done (do we really have to shower and eat??)
See you in the funny farm, aka AEDM. Hehehe.
PS. love your wind chime, what other kind of wind chime would Tracey Fletcher King have, oh my tea crazy sweet friend. I love you. :o)
Hugs,
Jenn
I was looking for you! So glad you made it. You have been on my mind for months. I have a new tea house I hang out in and wish so much I could share a cup with you. :) Looking forward to another November of you art.

Oh, a wind chime. Having read your blogs for quite a while now I really thought you were way out enough to tie your crockery together and hang it in the door handle.
Great pictures, really fun.
I have wind chimes all around the front porch of my home, but I fear these would be destroyed in the Kansas winds. Love them, though. Hope your hands survive this year.
Loved the red shoes Tracey especially your reason for buying them... lol I haven't gone that far yet with this painting obsession of ours. Enjoy your next mammoth challenge. That tea pot chime is just so fabulously whacky and adorable. Lovely fresh interpretations of it.
Can't wait until little miss is older and I can play with AEDM, not possible now. I had to bribe her with playing Cluedo just to have some computer time. Don't go too nutty trying to get all the art done.
I really, really love that windchime. So perfect for you.

The windchime is wonderful! I would love to do AEDM but I'm doing NaNoWriMo and moving/driving across the country this month with all that entails, so it's impossible. Or at least, improbable. Her Creative Every Day challenge now ... that I want to do. Maybe December! :)
That windchime really is great for you. and the pics are grand.
Tracey you are the bomb! You are an absolute hoot! You are madly hilarious! I had to subscribe to get my morning boot and hoot. p.s. thank you for your comment re my "addictions" blog last week...it has been working, save the wheat! I LOVE your art. Your blog header is gorgeous. My first thought "Man, this chick loves tea!" then "WOW what a piece of art"...then scroll down...then TEA! lol your rendition is wonderful, fantastic, better than the original. It talks, has life, is overgrown with wonderful sips and delight and magical thoughts of tea-time! I am going to pop over to this manic site of which you speak and see if I join you on this race track art run! lol I too tend to jump into the gerbal cage for these types of things (yet didn't post anything this friday! haha) Looking forward to seeing you again - in fact, I will, in my inbox...in my subscription of you! Yay!!! Kisses, Samara
I bow to you woman= and also say THANK YOU! Art every day from you is going to be such a TREAT- yay!
xx
Tracey - peer pressure sucks, doesn't it! So glad you gave in and are joining in. xoxo
you're not crazy, you are just over flowing with creativity, I think all artists are a little manic, we have so much to do in so little time!!! W just must do it all!!!! I love the chimes, perfect for you!!! I thought of you the other day when I was in or new tea shop!I thought how much you would have loved it!
YEA!!! I looked for your name on the list the first day and wondered where you were. Here's to another crazy wonderful AEDM :)
I KNOW, it's just so hard not to join things, i broke down as well, but i am happy you are in it too. Let's see if we can all keep it up for the month...
All the best to you Tracey, go for it and enjoy, I love your red shoes and teapots and cups..I love your simple and happy style, keep having fun!
enjoy the fun Tracey!!!!! The sketches are looking swell.
Yea!!! so glad we suckered you into joining us in the madness! we all love it, how can you resist? this year I'm already friends with so many of you from last year that I'm telling myself it won't be too much more to keep up with...ha! Glad to have 'met' you here my friend. xx
I do remember your work from last year's AEDM, but fell out of touch with you. You are as amazing as ever!
Lovely, lovely work!
You go girl, and I'll be right beside you cheering you on! While I relax and read all about it, lol waving hi from the hills of North Carolina :)
"suck it up buttercup" - hee hee!!
That's exactly how I felt- I took forever to sign up for AEDM but now when I look at the list of the names I am in the middle of the pack so lots of people try to resist its siren song - Unsuccessfully!! Can't wait to enjoy more of your amazing art! Lovely!
Wow, good on you for signing up! I've been eyeing it for the longest time but decided at the last minute not to sign up, in order to save my own sanity! :-) I guess this year I'll just sit by the way side and be a spectator to all the good work done by participants. :-)
So glad you hopped back in - you are one of my favorite sites to visit! It's a grand madness!
Your posts are so entertaining and I really have taken to your ingenious windchime:)

Love what you have to say, loved your art.. and love tea... it IS what keeps us upright :P
I checked out your blog last night and when you posted in mine today I thought- isn't that the lady with the great tea pot blog. Love your work and reading how this inspired you last year and helped you get your blog feet- makes me feel like I am on the right path. I just started my new blog this time for AEDM to post my work and hope it will keep me inspired.
It's about time you turned up, it's been a little sane around here :p
As for trying not to join in - "Resistance is Futile"
love the wind chime and the drawing :)
Wow....what awesome drawings!! Love them all.... :)
I am glad you have joined the madness - it is so much fun isn't it? I love your wind chime (both the painting and the real thing!) - a perfect compliment for your house I suspect!
See you on the road to madness (Would we have it any other way?)
Oooo LOVE the wind chime (both of them!) I just love to get a hot cup of tea and sit down to check out your blog! Hope you are having a great day! Looking forward to seeing your AEDM!
~Donna~
Your art is so pretty that it would be a shame not to join in here!!
That is stunning! Do you ever sell prints of your work on Etsy? I know there must be about a million tea lovers out there.
Great work. I am glad you decided to participate and share this great work.
I'm so glad you can't help yourself. What a beautiful blog you have here! Your header image makes me want to pull up a chair and sit down for some tea with you. Such lovely, lovely work. And with a positive attitude like yours? This is going to be a fun ride. Nice to meet you!
Love the tea chimes! (Both the art and the actual chimnes) So glad you are joining in!
I had similar battle about signing up again. Glad I did though. It was hard but fun last year. I made so much work, which was wnderful. It is where I connected to you and your blog. Your illustrations make me smile. I so enjoy seeing you work. :)
Draw, sketch, paint for the moment. The housework can wait!!
Awesome sketch, Trace!!! I so know what you mean because I went through the same 'will I?' or 'won't I?' deal with AEDM. It was like a Siren's call...couldn't NOT do it! lol
So Happy to see you here. I, too, have been checking the list just to see who is participating and here I am- still havent created or posted, but can feel myself getting closer to committing. Aghh-serious F.O.M.O going on here. xox julie
I love your illustrations. Like you I hesitated about taking the plunge but find that making this commitment really ramps up my creativity and I love that feeling. It is a buzz and gets me focused back on what I love - creating and connecting.
I'm delighted to discover you through AEDM.

Good for you Tracey....whatever gets your mojo going should guide your direction!! If it makes you happy then you should do it! Sadly the housework is always there no matter what. Make some meals that last a few days and go for it! Enlist Phantom to plan a meal or two while on holiday!! I love all your illustrations, and maybe I harbor a hidden agenda when I say " Follow your Bliss" knowing I'll be the beneficiary of every illustration and word you post!!
Hugs Giggles
Your sketches are really pretty! Did you use paint for them?
MAReee Xx
Now that wind chime is just YOU!!! :)
I have been sick so far this November so there was no joining up this year for me. :( I love to see what everybody is creating, though. More power to ya, lady! :)
