Absurdi-tea ...

I recently came across this picture of these " inspirational" teacups
which almost of brought me out in hives
these were dreamed up by some poor sod who doesn't live in the real world
or a bloke... only a bloke could be this delusional
Sorry Nigel at Freebird... you aren't lumped in with that lot as we all know you are special...
The thing is I felt they were all a bit smug
or maybe I just have a cynical hat on, but these things are not my cup of tea

I will give them Creativi-tea
because I think my creativity is indeed fuelled by tea
but the others are in that same category as
waking up and magically having a small butt and no wrinkles
just not  reali - tea

which I know was ages and ages ago, but is a giggle if you have time to go check it out
and she looked at Dir-tea and  Hoo- tea
much more likely in a world I live in...
Tranquili- tea and Simplici-tea in my house would become
Calami-tea and Complexi-tea

Sinceri-tea would be Rari-tea
Sereni - tea  would be Instabili- tea
and Prosperi-tea would become  Hilari-tea
or maybe yeah right - tea...
okay that one doesn't fit

And while I am a bit of a roll a few more could be
Dus-tea... Insani-tea... Stupidi-tea...
I think any of these labels would make me happier
as then I wouldn't have to work to achieve them
I wouldn't be given a bad case of the inadequates
when I sit down to a cuppa
I wouldn't be reminded of my shortcomings
I could smugly look at a mug and see unpredictabili-tea
and be totally comforted and reassured
which is just what I need as I embark on the AEDM madness
and linking up with Sunday Sketches as well
because it is one of my favourite parts of the week....xx

Given the adversi-tea and anxie-tea I am currently facing, your abili-tea to make me smile with your migh-tea talent is definitely appreciated!

The cups themselves may not be your cup of tea, but your drawing of them is simply brilliant! I love it!

Kristin

p.s. I am so glad we share an affini-tea for absurdi-tea... Thank you for including me in this nif-tea post! (Your post is actually better than "nifty", but I wanted to use another tea pun, and that was all that was coming to mind! Ha!)

hear-tea (hearty - looks weird) endorsement!!

The more ancient among us could use a senili-tea too :) They're really little senior's moments.
I love chai too. Do you?

Well Tracey it's all this absurdi-tea
that forces me into the arms of my full bodied aromatic friend coffee, void of all these numerous hang ups!!

Love the sketch...excellent humorous post!! As always, YOU ROCK!! The mugs are pretty creative and cute!!

It's early and not enough caffeine drunk yet to come up with any wit-tea comments.

Nice sketch, hilarious words as usual, and thanks for the mention. It's nice to be different ;)

I read with much hilari-tea but also perplexi-tea for by now (adding in all the comments) there are no new puns left for me - it looks like the majori-tea got there before me. It's all bit too dot-tea!

i'm not going to be able to look at words that end with -ty (-tea) the same way again.

i like the white cups with the colorful insides even if they are not quite as zen-like as intended! :-)

Rita said...

I love those cups! It would fun to drinking out of them...maybe the pun version even more than the real ones!

Hahaha, you are totally nut-tea! That's why we love you so much and keep coming back. But I DO want the simplici-tea cup...maybe if I drink from it daily it will solve some of the complexi-teas I keep creating for myself?

Marie Young (Marie Young Creative) said...

Love it, but my Instabil-tea cup would have to hold a big jolt of coffee.

Cute tea cups. They're like cheerleaders in a pyramid.

I love this post. I thought it would be fun to come up with some clever tea words, but then I would have to think. It is more fun to take in your art and words instead.

You are a riot. Thanks for the chuckle.

Lisabella Russo said...

Your art is so charming! I love tea too. I think I would have missed the irony of the tea cup titles though without your clever push. I love, love, love your shoes paintings. I am so glad you bought them, I really enjoyed the art you did with them.

PiaRom said...

You made me grin from ear to ear :)))) What a cool painting and posting!

Fallingladies said...

Oh my reaction was just opposite to yours, i immediately wanted sereni-tea, funny how People see things so differently and yet i love your post, made me laugh as always... What about serendipi-tea? That wouldn't put any pressure on the drinker at all and could be fun!

Haha! you are hilirious!
