Sharing some sketches from my sketchbooks today
sometimes drawings just never quite make it out of that slightly ugly stage
they seem to just be a bit stuck being almost there
and some weeks I just don't draw well
this week was one of those, but it never bothers me too much because it is temporary
and it is a hazard when you have a brain that is always going off in a million directions
sometimes I just can't focus for long enough to get my drawing together
while at other times it all comes together really quickly
and at the end of the day
the weather is so nice I kind of can't be bothered being too bothered...
So while drinking a cuppa the other day I stole a bit of time
and did a little blender sketch
we don't have two blenders
it is that just the one on the left was a bit out of whack
the one on the right isn't that much better
but hey the tea was gone and it's not like the blender is going anywhere
so I moved on to something else ... can't remember what
quite possibly it was washing, cleaning or some such horror
The tea packet sketch was just a little drawing
sneakily done while good old Jet Puff/ Phantom Steve
was trying to explain some maths concept to me
that kid just never gives up I tell you
and I certainly want to revisit drawing this packet at some stage
because the colours and all are just lovely
and cherry season is just around the corner
so it will be only fitting that I drink a cherry tea
in fact I am thinking that may be just what I need now
on this fine Sunday morning
hoping you all get the chance to sneak in some sketches as well
and maybe visit some fellow Sunday Sketchers ...xx
P S If you are wanting to enter the give away for these small originals on paper
use this link to go back to Jumping A Different Box ....
and it tells you what to do to enter ...xx

I'm liking the tea sketch, and the blenders would fit perfectly into APR this week, yay, DONE. lol.
Now, I do have a little bone to pick, you must be somehow reading my mind lately. The things your drawing are the things I'm thinking about.
One, I'm a little disturbed that I've been kinda forced to become a tea drinker. I found last week that I seem to be allergic (or some such) to the sugar substitute Splenda. EEk, what the HELL will I use to sweeten things?? Stevia is ok, but just doesn;t have to kick of either Splenda or real sugar but I CAN"T have heaps of actual sugar with my loads of coffee.
So, now since I can't get my coffee to taste anyway palatable, I've switched to TEA.
Now, about the blender, we FINALLY ordered a new kitchenaid blender for the smoothies in the morning, YAY. Now, I'll expect either a chicken painting or somesuch as I'm now gonna go make dinner, lol.
much love
Jenn
I have found your blog on Friday whilst at work. No I am not an artist I was one of your students back in 1991/1992. I have loved reading this blog so far, what you have been up to and where you have been............
Milly Mann xo

Love your work!
I really like the pears.
Clever work as ever.

Hi Tracey, ohhh, wonky blender week. Have a cup of Buddha balls, that should perk you up luv...:)
Mmmmmm cherries... I love cherries, especially with almond croissants and a big mug of coffee or tea (depending on my mood). Which reminds me... we have run out of coffee and I need to go to the supermarket!
I'm sure there are some great puns about the way you blended the shadows and lines on your drawing...
Wonky or not I love your work!! You can pretty much put anything on the page and I will enjoy it!! Thanks for sharing your not so perfect moments too! What ever you do is still better than what I can do, so it always inspires me!!
Hugs Giggles

on vacation sipping my coffee listening to the ocean. . quite sure you'd be sketching this bright lime green table umbrella all tied up from last night or the pigeons all walking around looking for scraps. I so need to learn how to just take out the pencil where ever I am! love that you just DO IT!!!!
cheers, dana
I love celestial teas I have 5 different boxes in the cabinet right now, I just can't help myself it's nice to have variety. It's always a pleasure stopping by to see what you've created.
I recognize those sketches immediately, nice job!
wonderful to see your sketches...
I don't know. I think you drew these rather well. You? A bad week? Pffttt :) Hee
My brain is a bit tired so I will have to jump in a different box FOR now but I will come and see what the give away procedure is tomorrow :). Hope you are well girl, sorry I have not been round the blogs much. I watched too much of George with my knee up in the air for me to be able to climb behind my PC and say hi.

I would be pretty happy with those sketches. Love the cherry tea too.
I had an Art teacher once tell me that, Not every thing we do is going to be a master piece, but we will learn from everything we do. That said, I see nothing wrong with these drawings.
yep those sketches look ok to me too but u have a standard lol and sometimes your not in the zone and as for Phantom Steve sprouting maths, well thats a big turnoff for me, im maths phobic as soon as i see figures i freeze, brain freeze ,u know like with ice cream lol oh and cherry cheesecake as soon as im off the Jenny Craig crap...
hehe bev
Great post about not being able to create all the time ~ I needed to hear that ~ lovely sketches ~ I love your style of creating ordinary things into something special with your art ~ (A Creative Harbor)
LOOOOVE your sketches!!! They are gorgeous as always.
The color in the cherrie bag are so bright and happy.
The blender sketch has movement! I am about to treat myself to a cup of tea.....your tea bag sketch gave me the idea. I like the crispness of your line.

Haha! i love you comment about the math concepts. My 12 yo was telling me all about integers, etc. OMG I can't even remember learning that stuff, I'm getting re-educated. He LOVES math, which makes me glad:) I love your sketches and the tea bag packet sketch is terrific!
I love the color and freshness of this, its always a joy to come here.I have started a new blog after mine was attacked, AGAIN, I wasn't going to but I missed everyone so much, I have joined as a follower so I won't miss any of your great posts!!
Cherry tea? Yummo! I'm definately in a coffee trip here in melbourne - just seems appropriate !
I was thinking of the APR "pairs", too! Perfect!
Lovely colors on that tea packet. Stay cool down there. Sorry, Phantom, but math talk puts me to sleep. ;)
Congratulations to all the winners! Lovely pieces I'm sure they're all thrilled.
