May have been a touch misleading with the title
but couldn't really come up with a witty title
I tried but that is the best I could come up with
which doesn't bode well for the rest of the post does it
but here goes anyway...
I decided to do a painting based on a soap wrapper that I saved
from like two years ago
and I loved this soap
it was Italian and lovely and smelt divine
a bit like showering in fruit salad
not actual fruit salad
because that wouldn't be pleasant
and now I have an image in my head
of cowering in a shower while being bombarded
by watermelon and kiwi fruit
in fact it could be down right dangerous
especially if the watermelon was whole....
But the fact was that this soap
almost changed my extreme dislike of peaches
I am not quite sure when it started but eating a peach
goes against my life long belief that you shouldn't eat anything furry
not old cheese, questionable Chinese left overs, cute pets
or any condiment that has formed a furry crust
in short
if it is furry
I am sooo not eating it...
so the only good peach is a tinned peach in my book
and yes I could peel it, but I figure life is too short to be bothered
not very gastro chic I know
but those things are creepy and don't get me started on the freaky pip....
tin that sucker and save us all...
The soap however was gorgeous
and it was a mother's day gift from two years ago
and after hoarding it I finally got in and used it over the summer
and have started the campaign to have it replaced on Sunday
you know Mother's Day
are you reading this Phantom and Sinus?????
may have left it a bit late to hint about this one
but it is worth a shot even at this late stage
call me an optimist...
My favourite part of painting this though
was that I got to use my Twinkling H2O's
which give it this great shimmer
that really doesn't scan
but trust me it is there
painting with these little pots is serious fun...
If you would like to check out more great work
swing by
and Artists Play Room where the theme was food related...
and this is kind of food related right
it smells like food at least... xx

this post made me laugh!!!
I want that soap too!!!
Lovely colorful painting and I too, have been using my twinkling h2os....they were just sitting in a drawer and I totally forgot what fun they are!!!
Fun art!!
I love your peach patterns...and your post made me laugh:) thanks for filling me in on what I might have missed...I love that overstuffed white chair...looks really comfy and inviting. I want to sit in it...
You are so talented and so funny!
Oh Trace, my sweet funny friend, you always, without fail, make ma laugh. Yup, shouldn't eat furry stuff, I'll add old cheetoes from under the couch too.
Love your soap painting, I'm so glad you could participate this week. Is this the one that needed rescuing or did you have to start from scratch??
Hope it's a rescue!
Hugs,
Jenn
I'm with you on the furry bit. Really funny thought of being showered with fruit but my imagination had it peeled and chopped, less painful :)
Love your picture, so bright. I'm pulling my hair out with the H2O's, they just keep soaking into the paper.
I will get there eventually.
Von.
I agree with you on peaches, i only eat canned!! Love your bright painting. I so need to buy some twinkling h2o's.
Hahaha, your watermelon comment made me think of childhood: we used to have an annual watermelon feast, in which we ate, yes, but also showered each other with watermelon peels and juicy bits of leftover melon. Talk about sticky! Not sure now why we thought it fun... But this soap of yours, oh yes. I can totally smell en enjoy it:-)
Great drawing - feels very tropical and fruity! I will actually take the time to peel a peach now and then but then you still have to deal with the pit - which I don't like. So I eat maybe one fresh one a year. Nectarines are better - they still have the pit but at least aren't fuzzy. The trick with either of them is getting them ripe. You have to buy them rock hard at the grocery and then wait and wait and hope they ripen but don't turn to mush and a bunch of bruises. sigh.
Another fun post, Tracey! I agree, being bombarded in the shower by watermelons and the like would be most unpleasant. LOL
Lovely sketch...I can almost smell the peaches from here. :)
My hubby can't understand my phobia against eating furry bits (not that he eats cute pets, but he does indulge in eating peaches and in my mind furry cheese...yuk!)
but then I read out your post to him to show I'm not alone! Thanks for being likeminded Trace. Two great minds think alike...I just wish two could paint alike!
I think I know that soap too ;D
Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Mother's Day. I'm not holding my breath even for a bar of furry soap :$
You have to wash the fuzz off! And then you bit into a big juicy peach. Makes my mouth water! So want a peach now. Your painting is awesome! Colors are just brilliant!
They are so juicy, Tracey!!!
I am with you on the furry peaches no matter how beautiful. I do love nectarines though! Great fun post and beautiful painting as usual, Tracey. I was just hearing about all those sparkly paints from last week on APR. I haven't tried any of those yet, but love anything that sparkles.
Trop marrant l'histoire du savon! et vos couleurs sont vraiment fabuleuses.
Bonne journée Tracey
;)
Love your flowery soap and the tale to go with it! Valerie
you're so funny! Had a good chuckle!! furry peaches blechhh...can't stand them either! Those twinkling H20's are so bright!!! Have to add those to my "One day........" arty things to buy list when i have more money!!$$
wow loving your peaches and the wonderful colourful background. Happy PPF, Annette x
I really enjoy your humor Tracey - Today you gave me my chuckle of the day! Its such a pretty painting and I agree, the idea if a water melon landing on my head during an otherwise pleasant shower really would be enough to spoil my day too!
Did you use acrylic inks for this? Whe In zoomed right in I could see the sparkle quite clearly :0)
These peaches look good enough to eat and I LOVE peaches (especially Georgia peaches) fresh or in a can. Peach soap sounds delicious to me, if it smells "peachy". Great post!
What beautiful colors! I really love the summery feel to it. :)
I am a big furry peach and I'm coming to get you..... In my Messy Book on the page it says to put something in a bag and let it go mouldy... well I put a peach in there!
Fab painting my friend as always. Hope you get the soap (and lots more nice things) this weekend.
Great post and love the 'tale' and your creations are so colorful and awesome ~thanks, namaste, ^_^
The bright colors and peaches alone are amazing but with H20's- WOW! Someday they will make a scanner that lets that shimmer come through on the screen...
Your peaches look good enough to eat, Tracey. Beautiful painting.
I love your bright happy tropical colors. Peaches are one of my favorite things to eat. I can't wait until summer to really enjoy them. I'm sorry that you don't feel the same. Your fruit shower made me laugh. Have a wonderful Mother's Day.
I have to figure out what twinkling H20 is. Anyway, your painting is so vibrant and cheerful. It's beautiful!
Woah..such fabulous decadent peaches..what a colorful gorgeous post! Beautiful color -palette..I also love how our showed the pit of the peach..beautiful!!
and love your fun stories too!
FABULOUS!
Victoria
:):) Fun to read about your views on furry consumption!
This is a beautiful painting - peachy keen! ;)
I hope the hint is taken and that you have a great Mother's Day!
I am sooooooooo with you on the fuzzy thing. I peal my peaches and really can't eat an apricot unless it is dried. Love the painting and love the post. Happy PPF
LOVED your tale of peaches and now you have me imagining being bombarded with fruit salad- not NEARLY as nice as eating it for sure! It always amazes me what you choose to use for your subject matter- you manage to make the most ordinary objects so wonderful to look at and then when you take something that is already beautiful(like peaches ;)) WOW!!! Gorgeous-ness!! Good luck getting your soap replaced!
xx
Stephanie- AKA-Georgia Peach :D
You are hilarious, wow, your art and your writing combined is *delicious* !! :)
I love that you were inspired by something simple and created such an eye-popping piece!
You have a way with words and such artistic talent. Love your peachiness.:)Have a wonderful weekend and Mother's Day.
Your colors only brighten my day a tad more than your wonderful humor! Or is the humor that outweighs the color? colorful humor perhaps! All wonderful. I for one love peaches, (after I peel away the fur; but have been known to eat it too at times when in a hurry to get that juice running down my chin!) I in fact have a dwarf peach tree in my back yard! you have inspired me to draw the peaches this year once they ripen. Are those really the names of your children? No, can't be...can it? HPPF!
I'm with you on peaches. Once I'm past the furry bit... they still taste bleh. I won't eat them canned (tinned) either. Double bleh. However, they look mighty fine in this painting! I must investigate the twinkling H2O's... They sound like a lot of fun!! Warmly, Tracy
Oh my!!!!! I love the contrast of the peaches against the blue sky... great job!
Happy PPF...

Yeah...with you on not eating things with fur...Great paintings though, whether you broke any food rules or not.
Your post reminded me of a few years back when one of my co-workers went to the farmer's market on her lunch break and bought pounds and pounds of peaches. She thought she'd come back to the office and look up recipes for them. She started typing and then announced to the office,"In case you were wondering...Peaches.com...nothing whatsoever to do with peaches." A few minutes later she announces, "In case you are still wondering, freshpeaches.com...EVEN LESS to do with peaches!"
Okay, this is brilliant! The colors! The whimsey! I love that you based it on a favorite soap, and I hope the hint gets out so that you can get some more!
Just gorgeous :)
Thank you too for your sweet comments, xoxo
I'd love some of that soap you're talking about. Sounds yummy! Your painting is gorgeous! Happy PPF!
I love wonderful smelling soaps and twinkle H20s.Yet I don't like a fruity fragrant in a soap. I agree, nothing furry for me either!! Love your vibrant illustration, and humor! Makes me crave a nectarine!!
Hugs Giggles
your peaches are wonderful! fur and shimmers are a delight.
All the line works are just wonderful and wish I could do that! Well Done!
This is very vibrant and super pretty!
Love the colors!! and the soap sounds yummy too!
funny...vibrant...amazing work...xxx
Wow, your peach painting is so colourful and energetic! Gorgeous.
Wonderful painting, so juicy! <3
Seriously, I'm repeating every single week: I just love your drawing technique. I can imagine my comments get bored after a while... LOL.
A lot of color this time... so lovely!
Colorful lovely and so inviting. I do like your art very much.
Nicole/Beadwright
Lovely peaches. How vibrant! I could almost smell the fragrance from here:)
Oops, I thought I had commented on this, sorry about the delay :D
As I'm a major sucker for colour, I'm definitely drawn to the colours in this. Those oranges and vermillions up against thay lovely blue are stunning and very effective. Then the dash of pink in the flowers just sets it all off nicely.
Great stuff!
Best wishes,
Liz
