Had a go at delicate and sweet today
didn't quite pull it off
not delicate and sweet as a person
cause trust me there is nothing delicate about me
I tried drawing and painting delicate and sweet
turns out it is harder than I thought as well...
I have all these lovely delicate tea cups
many of which I inherited or was given
and I had this idea
that they would make a lovely series
and of course French Macaroons
are just what is needed to induce
the right mind set to tackle it
if you were wondering why
the raspberry one in the pic looks a bit dodgy
it is because it was eaten before I got it included in the sketch
I am thinking I need to work on these a bit more
before I find the style I want to use
this isn't quite it
maybe the giant mug of Autumn Spice tea might have contributed
it is robust to say the last
might be more effective if I try a nice lightly flavoured tea
Off to tackle another tea cup
and hope it is closer to what I can see in my head
don't you wish you could just
I Dream of Genie it onto the page sometimes
so much easier
Happy Tea Tuesday all... xx

Lovely cup, but I have never seen coloured biscuits before! I once did a food still life with the kids at school, and kept wondering that it seemed to be getting less and less - the kids kept eating it! Valerie
Beautiful cup...and macrons!!I to have yet to part with teacups from my mother and grandmother! I'm a mug girl so they stayed in a box for years until my daughter decided she wanted them in our wall unit....she loves them, as do many young people!!

Thanks for visiting my blog today!! and, you're right, my thoughts exactly on my peony in a teacup. I thought of attempting to paint it - I am very amateur! Please feel free to do so- I love your paintings and your idea of a series!!! You have given me an idea - I may offer that photo up (and others of mine)to artists out in blogland to paint......I would love to see the different interpretations!! Have a great day!!
I love your delicate Tea cup with the Macarons. Makes me want to sit a spell.. I love Tea cups like this & have a few. Sometimes I too wish I could twitch my nose and walla something is done. :))
What a lovely delicate tea cup....I'd love to paint tea cups, but it's so darn frustrating getting the saucer just right...darn things.....
p.s.... I love that you called your Pink macaroon "dodgy", I don't hear that word everyday...I love it...
Looking forward to your next "cup of tea"....
blessings,
Cindy♥
Hello Tracey ...I guess I am officially a fan of everything you paint...delicate or no ... and I actually do think today's offering captures the pretty cup beautifully and you've made me hungry for those gorgeous macaroons too...brilliant and colorful as always!
I think we are each our own strongest critic :)
Happy T day to you

I'd like to know what's in your head (well, maybe not :) that didn't make it to the paper. This looks pretty darn great to me and the cookies add an interesting counterpoint to the delicate cup - though I've never seen colored ones. Thanks again for sharing.
You have a beautiful gift! What a blessing!

I think you nailed it. We're always our own worst critic, you know! :) And seriously...I MUST give my hand a try at doing some delicate tea cups once settled in my new home/studio! Yours TOTALLY rock!!
xx
I love colorful and your cup of tea is not only colorful, it is quite whimsical. I like your Genie in the Bottle idea. I would use that concept and then pretend I might actually be able to draw (Grin). Happy tea today.
I love the delicate cup and love how you warned us of the 'coffee' part coming up. LOL Cute.
Well I love, love, LOVE this! I wonder what you saw in your head? Would it really have been any better? it is just perfect!! :0)
I love your interpretation of delicate and sweet! you've infused a lot of movement and fun into something that might otherwise be stuffy and boring .... your teacup looks almost jumpy and jittery - like it's saying, "I just wanna get up and dance!"
If you ever figure out a way to "I dream of Jeannie" your paintings; please do share the info- that would be so much easier! In the meantime, you may not be happy with your tea cup and macaroons, but I sure do like it! Can't wait to see what happens when your painting matches your vision!

I love anything related to sugar but your post only worsen it haha. I actually find this illustration to be delicate looking at the details I can tell that you had an amount of patience to make it seems real.

Sophie :)
I love the macaroons and I think this tea cup series is going to be fabulous! Keep it up!! :)
I have seen photos of french macaroons, but have never tasted one. They're beautiful and colorful and fit right in with your pretty tea cup. The perfect choice. :)
I just love the way you draw and paint!
Ooh, my mouth is watering just looking at those macaroons. Your teacup is lovely and delicate.
