There is a dog on my Workdesk Wednesday

There is a dog on my desk this Wednesday
poor Mushu had a haircut last week
but unlike Samson losing his strength
poor old mutt has lost his courage
not that he had much to start with
but for some reason he has become sooo clingy
he is not content with sitting at my feet
and instead has positioned himself on my desk
I didn't think he would actually stay there
and just sat him there to give my arms a rest from holding him on my lap
but he has been there for an hour
watching me as I was drawing
but then I started to add colour
and he started licking the paints
which are thankfully non toxic
so I figured it may be best to abandon that for now...
so while I don't have exciting artwork to show off on my desk
at least I have a dog on my desk
and that is a line I never expected to write in a blog
and seemed like too good an opportunity not to share it with Julia
and all her desk stalkers over at Stamping Ground...

Beside my desk however
is full of finished bits and pieces
only because I now have masses of storage
in which to hide away
all the unfinished stuff
actually I am lying a bit because this pic was this morning
and it is now clear after a trip to the post office
which is just as well because the post man just delivered a wonderful surprise

The lovely Rita over at Soul Comfort
has made me this beautiful tea themed card
and sent it through to me
which is a big deal
as Rita is a coffee girl and I know how territorial you coffee people get
It is just beautiful and gave me a lift
on a very grey and miserable day
and there was a great letter inside
written in the most wonderful handwriting
which means that I am now slightly embarrassed
that she will be getting my chicken scrawl in hers
but at least I got it sent off before this one arrived...
Rita suggested a swap after I posted this painting that I did
 on my blog recently
not liking snail mail because I all I get is bills
and that all the good mail came via email
so I stand corrected
and great fun things come via the mail
and a huge thanks to Rita
for making my day
and the card will be on my desk
as soon as I get the dog to move over a bit...xx

Oh how cute! I have heard that some pooches can feel a little depressed when they're clipped. Thankfully Mufftypup seems not to be affected...she has enough to deal with without that too ^..^

What a lovely idea fromRita to send through a beautiful card.
I love real post, as I still call it (that shows I'm an oldie) but not when it's only bills obviously.
Thanks for letting me take a peek at your desk and model Mushu :D

Yay, snail mail....wins the race. I'm always up for a little snail mail swap. Love the dog...He's getting close to the warmth, he obviously needs a warm woolly jumper to keep him warm, then he'll be back by your feet... :)

Well a dog on your desk.. I wasn't expecting you to type that, and it makes me smile! She's probably trying to borrow your jumper! Loving the card artwork again , and how nice to get proper mail, I do agree, and that fab stamped card - lovely stamps..I have a few myself, alhtough as you say, I'm a coffee person really. Actually, you made me laugh...territorial is probably true!

Moshu is so gorgeous, I thought I had trouble with a parrot but he is much bigger. How could you turn down that face though, you just have to hug him.
Aren't you lucky getting such a lovely card from Rita.

Thanks for putting my button on your blog, I feel very special.

Love your paint tubes.
Can't wait to catch up after the hols.
Von :)

Love those pictures on your desk. I always enjoy seeing your blog header but now I have seen those tubes of paint etc I am in awe of your talent.
Thanks so much for sharing it.

I love to do swaps so I can look forward to the mail box instead of just bills and junk mail...love your little dog, they have such individual personalities...I am keen for an ATC swap if you would like? You see this could be the start of your mail box being permanently full of lovely things!

Oh he did make me smile! Glad it was non-toxic but it may have resulted in a very colourful pooch :) Lovely workdesk this week, and a fab card. Lucky you.

Oh I want a little Mushu to hug too! He's sooooo sweet! Probably just a little chilly after having his haircut. i don't know how you can possibly describe your artwork as "bits and pieces"!!

Your artwork is amazing - truly works of art! How lovely of Rita to send you a card, it is very pretty too and your little dog, he is just soooo gorgeous, perhaps you should knit her a jumper? Oh, yes, I love your webpage header picture - it's fab. Anne #66

I think all crafters should have a little Mushu, he's so cuddlesome and gorgeous. I do love your desk too. Hugs Rita xxx

Poor Mushu-can you imagine it from his point of view? Strangers took him and tried to drown him and then yanked on his fur and then STOLE SOME OF IT! Yep, pretty terrifying. I do think it is funny that he just stood nearby for so long. Love the paint tube artwork! And how sweet to get good old fashioned GOOD snail mail. That's why I join swaps-so it won't all be bills and junk mail.

Beautiful dog, and if he gets in your way on the desk just parcel him up and send him over to me, my Sorrel would adore playing with his, in fact they have a look of each other (or is that just in my eyes?). Love the paint tube art.

He is too cute! I wish mine would sit long enough to allow me to do something, but they want to be in my lap, my arms, anywhere the don't need to be. Dani32

Out two pups had a major hair cut a couple of weeks ago, and once they had rushed round the garden and got rid of the grooming smells, they were very happy. It also meant that drying them off and getting rid of mud take half the time. Your painting is brilliant, you are very talented. Thank you for your visit today and your lovely comments about our new stamp.Whether it gets put out commercially is now up to DD, as it is her image. Have a good week. xx Maggie #5

Awwww... he's no bigger than a kitty so in my not so humble opinion... cat or dog on the desk no biggie. ;) Well, of course there is the matter of licking paint. Ewwwwww. Coffee people are territorial? I didn't know! I'm a coffee person. I like tea. I just prefer the cuppa jo in the morning for the swift kick in the pants. Tea is a soft kick and let's face it... the time of day I get up, I need a good hard one!

OMGoodness! I didn't know you were going to post that--LOL! Thanks, though--and the handwriting, too--and so very glad you liked it. Just a fun one with rubber stamps and Radiant Pearls. I can hardly wait to see my surprise in the mail! Told you snail mail can be fun--*she snickers* ;)

Poor Mushu does look quite distressed. I've always wondered if dogs feel kind of naked after haircuts.

Hope you're having a great week, Tracey! :):)

Seems I'm not the only one with a needy furbaby that wants to 'help' create. I put a small table next to my desk for additional storage and it has become Willy's spot instead. Isn't it grand being so loved!! Beautiful card. Lucky you!! xx

Mushu is adorable! That makes your desk the winner, if they were handing out a Cutest Desk Award... :)
I have a pieball weenie dog you can see on my blog(I'm #168 on the WOYWW roll) and sometimes he uses the couch arm to walk onto my computer desk and get right in my face for some kisses, which I won't give him! But it does make me get up and find him a Busybone! Maybe Mushu was after a treat?

At first I was having a terrible time leaving comments on blogs last night. They didn't want to post. NOW I get "service unavailable when I try to leave a comment. It's really frustrating. I see others having trouble with MY link, too.

Your furbaby is adorable and looks so cuddly. Happy WOYWW from # 7.

A dog and real mail - what else could a desk need? Thanks for the visit and nice comments - I've been involved in a digital project the last few days and falling behind in my blog visits too. You've been busy and I can't wait to see the zine....that's a project still on my mind but I want to get a handle on this AB first.

Well that caught me off-guard with a dog on your desk. Moshu is adorable. I'm use to seeing cats on desks...beds...all over the place. They seem to like higher ground. But Moshu. That trip to the groomer must have thrown him for a loop. I'd have a hard time getting much done with that cute face staring at me.
