Introducing Phantom

Tea pot... day three

Day three has rolled around and  it has been a cracker...  very early start because it is a school day, but not so bad this morning and I kept all bitching to a minimum because it was lovely and cool and the jasmine was wafting through the window, and the dog hadn't snored ... actually he may have snored but I had kicked all male family figures to the downstairs bedroom in order to try to catch up on some sleep, so doesn't matter if they snored of not, and  in short I was feeling rested and raring to go.

Dropped Steve at school, didn't run over any of the slow moving girls, and took a drive along the waterfront to marvel at what a wonderful place I live in. Of course the tide didn't know I was having a good day and wasn't exactly cooperating, but the mud flats were at their glistening best. Came home, dog sneezed on foot, but as I hadn't yet removed my shoe I took this as another good sign, and then headed into the studio.

Good form continued, and line drawings all came along nicely, so nicely I have drawn up quite a few things to work on over the next few days, and then joy of all joys, a cup of tea with my great friend Tracey Potter. Now Tracey is talented and generous and sweet and thoughtful and she had not just made tea and served me a beautiful cake on a hand painted plate, but there was a candle for a belated birthday, and presents to make the art talk and catch up just that bit more special. I don't think anyone could have a bad day when a candle has been lit in their honour! Ok maybe it would be a bad day if someone lit say, 500 candles in your honour and then the house burned down, or your hair caught fire, but 1 candle just makes it perfect!

The birthday seedlings and perfect ribbon!

So home from Tracey's feeling motivated and inspired, work on the blog and give it a freshen up, and then get going on my teapot painting at the top of the page, which actually isn't my best, but hey, I managed to paint that in a white skirt, and it is still white!!! A day of miracles I tell you, a day of miracles.

Head to the pick up line, get to park in the shade right near the beautiful bougainvillea, beat your high score at tetris while you wait, and not have to wait hours for your daughter, who on the way home from school puts in a formal request for a name change to Phantom... not quite sure why, and kind of thinking perhaps I don't want to know. Got to love dropping a Steve at an all girls school and picking up a Phantom... told you the day was a good one!!!

Sounds like a lovely day! I was disappointed to miss a catch up with you two, but did have a good catch up with my Mum which was nice. It took me a while in the last couple of blogs to figure out who Steve was, and now she's changed again to Phantom! haha!

What a wonderful day! And you painted in white?! O.M.G. - I am envious. I seem to become an instant magnet for color (usually mud or catsup or paint) when wearing white. :) You go girl!

Your tea pot is wonderful! Totally impressed about the white skirt - I think I have paint on every piece of clothing - including my bathing suit!

I used to get kids knocking on the door asking if Rupert would like to play out...who the h... is Rupert I would scream out loud in my head. I finally understood what was goingon when they came calling for Roger, Ruter, Reachy that my son didn't really like his name. Well at least he liked the R part enough to keep the momentum up. So I decided to just shout for R when I wanted his attention.
Love the tea theme!!!

Phantom! What an interesting name! Makes me curious why.

It's a beautiful teapot! And in my favorite color combo - blues & oranges. :)

Adorable teapot - love that the edges are red/orange for that extra zest. And your day does sound just delightful - I'm a little envious.

While reading about it, it got me wondering where you live and I see that you live in Brisbane. I visited Brisbane and the Gold Coast about 10 years ago for a week. We had our 2 boys and we all just absolutely loved it! We were there in May and the weather was perfect, the people so friendly, the sunsets gorgeous. We hope to go back and explore some more.
