Day 9 and dog snot

5.30 am is like torture... I am soooo counting down the days until school is out for the summer break and I can sleep in... worse thing is that most mornings I am now in the habit of getting up before that... no I haven't taken drugs.... and despite a nagging concern that it may be a sign of ageing I am still not feeling like eating dinner at 4pm so I am figuring it is just the end of the school year madness that has taken hold.

On the plus side I got this painted in before drop off for school... Phantom is feeling quite a bit better and Mushu and I waved her off with a song in my heart at the thought of a day to myself at home... turns out the mood was slightly ruined by Mushu crying for the first few minutes drive because Phantom had left him, followed by him tap dancing on the seat sensor making the alarm go off like crazy, followed by the air con making him sneeze about twenty times, so I arrived home slightly deaf in one ear and with a touch too much dog snot on one arm, but still managing to hold the good mood...just...

Walked through the house to the studio and was greeted by lovely slanting light across my table and the whole work space looking quite inviting and I made sure I stopped for a moment to look at my pretty space... deep sigh and all the snot was forgotten and I was just sitting down when...

the phone rang...
tele - freakin - marketer...
the washing machine finished its load...
hang out washing...
I remembered I needed to bake for Phantom's lunchbox tomorrow
because it turns out that being home with a stomach bug does not stop you from eating a scary amount of slice...
dropped bag of frozen berries on the white mat...
put white mat in washing machine...
put slice in oven...

answered phone again...
wrong number this time...
rewash mat because berries are just that hard to get out of a white mat...
trip over dog because the oven alarm is telling me the slice is done...
trip over dog on way out of kitchen kicking toe on coffee table...
hop around like a lunatic swearing like a sailor...
notice indoor plants looking a bit sad in the heat...
water plants...
hang out white mat with a slight pink pattern now part of its charm...
bring in clothes from line and fold...
make cup of tea...
fall asleep on lounge with Mushu...
wake up after dog sneezes ...
in my face...
and realise most of the day is gone and it is now time to get this posted before getting things together for school pick up...
Lucky I got in and painted early...
many more days like this and I will need to get up at 4am like Phantom does!!!
I am sharing this post with AEDM and WOYWW
hope you have had a more productive and coordinated day than I have xx

You have such a great sense of humor. I had no idea (from IA) that you were so fun and funny. LOVE, LOVE your studio. If I had all that light and organization, I would never leave, either. I thought I would stop by for a short visit before I went to bed. Happy WOYWW from #4.

Life as normal on the funny farm as they say....when you're itching to create the world needs you and if you had a day to yourself you end up Mojoless... sounds like your humour is helping out....tomorrow is another day but 5.30 sounds horrendous! Is that because of the distance or weather/school times? Thanks for the peek into your lovely studio...Sarah at 13.

What a gorgeous studio you have...I'm so jealous!

I'm up at 4AM weekdays and no later than 7AM on weekends....I'm usually up by 6AM on weekends. I've never been able to kick the early bird habit. lol

Thoroughly enjoyed reading about your day...quite comical!

I'm looking forward to the end of school year too...love the break from routine.

I also loved your art for today too!

ROFL at 'dog snot'... sorry!
Sounds like you need a few more hours in each day! Still, on the bright side, your desk really is gorgeous - you used the perfect word... "Inviting".

tracy said...

Lovely flower and huge kudos for managing ALL that dog sneezes & snot, baking, washing AND still posting. *bows*

This morning I got sneezed on by my cat who likes to sleep by my head. Thank goodness I was facing the other way. Cat rears in the face is not a pleasant thing to wake up to either.

Thanks for the smile!

You may have had a bad day, but you gave the rest of us a real giggle today. We all sympathise with your disrupted day. My experience is that I do not plan any day now, I just let it develop. Any plan is just a target for someone to mess up. Your crafting space is so bright and cheerful - a lovely place to work or just dream.
