A Cheat's Guide to Resolutions

Day 25 is here and I am on the homeward run for AEDM
which is a little bit sad
because it has been quite a mad fun ride
and I have found many wonderful blogs
and everyone has just been too sweet for words...
and no one has complained
yet
about the tea cup stacks
which have made quite a few appearances
especially on PPF day if I am remembering right
sorry about that all PPF people...
no tea next week
but as the month draws to a close my thoughts turn to...

December
and for me that means one thing...
time to set my 2011 resolutions...
that is not a typo, I did write 2011 and there is a very good reason for this
you see I hate being locked into things
and the chances of me sticking to resolution for 12 months are thin...
ok they are improssible...
but I figure I can sneak up on it...

and if aedm has shown me anything
it has shown me that I can do things for a month
and that means I could finish the year on a high
and can smuggly say on
new years eve
that I kept my 2011 resolutions.
so here they are

I will not whinge and whine, bitch and moan about the alarm going off at the crack of dawn...
now this is a deceptively easy one because there is only one day of school left for the year as summer break starts on December 1, and then the alarm gets turned off until late January... but  if Sinus Man decides to sleep upstairs on the night of the 30th then this could be touch and go...

I will make amazing lunch boxes for Phantom...
see note above regarding the fact that I will only have to make one...  but don't be fooled here either because to qualify for this I have to end the war of the cheese stick, which has involved me placing said cheese stick in lunch box every day for the last week, and it coming home every day... I know she isn't going to eat it, and quite honestly if she did she would probably end up with food poisoning, but I feel like a better mum if there is some dairy in there and it is my excuse for not making something mind blowing... as in ... you didn't eat what I put in there yesterday so don't expect me to make an effort today... in my defence can I point out that said lunch box is put together at approx 5.45 am so the fact that she doesn't get an old mango seed and the dog's breakfast is a miracle...

I will not grinch out when Christmas shopping...
this is going to be tough... maybe all pressies can be bought on line... then again cracking up when the internet connection goes down is still grinching I suppose... may review this one

To not kill any plants for the whole month...
including the artificial Christmas tree... almost did last year... trust me you don't want to know...

To make sure there are fresh... preferably insane looking flowers in the house all month... this is a late addition due to the purchase earlier today of these insane green chrysanthemums... how positively cool are these

To not put any more bread in the freezer...
Phantom is a coeliac, and I don't really eat the stuff yet we have enough bread in the freezer to see us through three winters

To always check painting water for little midgies so I don't paint them into work...
the tiny black specks on the tea cup stack above are actually dead midgies, painted in ... because I couldn't be assed to get up and change the water every five minutes because they insisted on dive bombing the stuff...

Ok
just scrolled back and that is starting to look like a scary list
and I want to ease into the whole thing
so unless you can think of something huge I have missed
let's call that complete...

and a final reminder that I will be drawing the giveaway
in the afternoon Australian time
so pop over here if you haven't got an entry in

Happy PPF and AEDM all !!!

The cups are fine, haven't got bored with them yet, and love the lime green 'mums; they look like something from a 60's monster movie - "The Chrysanthemums from the Black Lagoon!"

As for resolutions, a few years back I made a resolution that I wouldn't make any more resolutions. So far I've managed to stick with it :)

I love your tea cups and am certainly not bored of seeing all the varieties you've painted. I also love the idea of starting your resolutions at the end of the year - definitely road to success and I may have to try that one myself not that I've even bothered to make any for the last few years.

Hahaha this is my favourite post yet - and actually made me pretty smug for the first time ever reading your posts that I'm in a cold winter right now and don't have to deal with dive bombing midgets. Love the colours you've used on this stack, they work beautifully together. Good look with the list - think the xmas shopping one will prove worst, who doesn't grinch with that task? thanks for sharing :) x

I love the addition of the rose crowning the teacups. It just adds that touch of softness, well done! And those might be my favourite type of chrysanthemums, think they are called spider.

I love your stacks of tea cups, they are always a treat to see. And i really like the idea of making your resolutions of December 1st. It's all about achievable goals, isn't it?

that is one awesome drawing and a seriously ambitious list! i'd be incredibly lucky if I could manage "not grinching out" and "to not kill any plants". good luck with the list and watch out for the midgies!

Your teacup stack is gorgeous....no complaints here. I had to giggle at your resolutions list...too funny. lol I'm ashamed to say that we waste so much bread in this house. Nobody seems to eat it until I stop buying it and then there's complaints because there's no bread....I just can't win a trick!

What an idea! Make your resolutions for December 1st. I love it--so funny! I make a list, but it isn't resolutions. I make a "goal" list...which I fully expect not to check off half of. It's just a to-do reference list for the year. I do occasionally adjust it during the year...usually additions. (My mind is notorious for making promises my body can't keep.) And whatever doesn't get done--well, it either gets dropped or transferred to the next year's list.

I'm so glad we connected this year. Good luck with your list, lady!! :):)
